Dr. Livingstone has been serving the Canaan community for over 25 years. His philosophy is simple: to help people become more healthy! Dr. Livingstone takes a holistic approach to dentistry, treating his patients in a way that not only helps maintain their teeth and gums, but also the overall health of their body and mind. Through clear communication with his patients, and a commitment to provide quality, gentle dental care, Dr. Livingstone is able to work with his patients toward a lifetime of good health in a way that meets their individual needs.

Education

Dr. Livingstone graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine in 1975. After graduating, he opened a dental practice in Kent, where he served the community for over ten years. In 1985, he opened his present-day practice in Canaan.

Continuing education is an important part of Dr. Livingstone's commitment to his patients. He regularly participates in continuing education as a way to provide the most up-to-date treatment options and highest quality care.

Professional and Community Involvement

Dr. Livingstone has had articles published both locally and nationally, has spoken before numerous audiences, is an ex-director and board member of the Society for Occlusal Studies, and has appeared on a number of radio and television shows on the subject of holistic dentistry and mercury toxicity.

He has also been asked to appear and speak before the Environmental Protection Agency on the subject of heavy metal and mercury toxcity. In addition, he provides free dental care for adults and children through the Habitat for Humanity and Volunteers in Medicine (Great Barrington, Massachusetts) and is on the dental board of directors of V.I.M.. He also sponsors a local "Give Kids A Smile" day to provide comprehensive dental care at no charge to children of parents who cannot readily afford care for their children.

Outside the Practice

Dr. Livingstone currently lives in Sheffield, Massachusetts. When he's not at the practice, Dr. Livingstone enjoys riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, hiking, scuba diving, reading, gourmet cooking, bowling, snow skiing, and sports car racing.
